Tender spare ribs steamed with fermented black soybean sauce is the perfect dish to go with rice or even to enjoy on its own. The entire dish, complete with the light sweetness of pumpkin, is a hearty, filling meal.

  • 1/4 cup Fermented Black Soybeans, diced
  • 2 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 1 tbsp. Mashed Garlic

  • 1/2 tbsp. Oyster Sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. Sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Shaoxing Wine
  • 1/2 tsp. White Pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Corn Starch
  • 3 oz. Pumpkin
  • 1 tsp. Red Thai Chili Peppers
  • Garnish
  • 1 tsp. Green Onion, Chopped

First chop the fermented black soybean with a knife.

Put the fermented black soybean in a pot over medium heat, pour cooking oil, and stir-fry the garlic for 2-3 minutes. Take out for use.

Add the fried fermented black soybean, oyster sauce, sugar, Shaoxing cooking wine, white pepper, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic, mix evenly and marinate for 15-20 minutes

Peel the pumpkin, cut into pieces, and put it in a bowl.
