Made of thinly sliced beef and beef offal, this Spicy Sliced Beef in Chili Oil Sauce (Fu Qi Fei Pian) is a classic Sichuan dish. The true taste of this dish is spicy and numbing.  It has a reddish color and tastes very fresh.

Ingredients:
  • 1 stalk Green Onion
  • 5 piece Ginger
  • 1 lb Beef Tripe
  • 1 lb Beef Tendon
  • 1 lb Beef Shank
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing Wine
  • 0.5 tsp Sichuan Peppercorn
  • 3 count Star Anise
  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp Garlic,Minced
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce [Dressing]
  • 1 tbsp Water [Dressing]
  • 2 tbsp Sesame [Dressing]
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, Minced And Sauteed [Dressing]
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, Minced [Dressing]
  • 1 tbsp Peppercorn Oil [Dressing]
  • 1 tsp Maggi Seasoning [Dressing]
  • 0.25 cup Green Onion, Finely Chopped  [Dressing]
  • 0.5 tbsp Garlic, Minced And Sauteed [Dressing]
  • 1 tsp Seafood Say Sauce [Dressing]
  • 0.5 tsp Sugar [Dressing]
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil [Dressing]
  • 1 tbsp Sweet Black Rice Vinegar [Dressing]
  • 0.5 tbsp White Pepper, Grounded [Dressing]
  • 1 tbsp Chef John’s Chili Oil, (May Substitute With Chili Oil )
  • 1 tbsp Ground Peanut
  • 1 tsp Cilantro, Finely Chopped

Fill half of a large cooking pot with water, and bring to a boil. Add green onion, ginger, beef tripe, beef tender, beef shank, peppercorn, and star anise. Cover and bring to a boil. Lower the heat, and simmer for 90 minutes.

Take out beef tripe, beef tender, and beef shank. Cool in refrigerator for 2 hours.

Cut cooked meat into thin slices. Nicely layer them in a serving plate.

Mix all [Dressing] ingredients in a large bowl.

Drape dressing over sliced meat pieces, and top with fresh cilantro and peanut pieces.
