  • 1 lb. Beef flank steak
  • Marinade
  • tbsp. Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 1/8 tsp. Black pepper powder
  • Coating
  • 3 large Egg
  • 2 cup Corn starch
  • 2 cup Bread crumbs
  • Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Honey
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. A1 original sauce
  • 1 tsp. Maggi seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • Stir-fry the Fried Beef
  • 1 tbsp. Cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp. Minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup Onion, diced
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • Garnish
  • 1 large Lemon zest
  • Green Onion

Cut the beef into large slices. (Beef should cut against the grain.)

Tenderize the beef slices by using the back of the knife, then smack to make them thinner.

Combine beef slices with 【Marinade】 in a bowl and mix thoroughly.

Coat each beef slice with cornstarch first, then pull it through the beaten eggs, then put it in the breadcrumbs and coat evenly. Press the crumbs down firmly.

Peel the rind of a lemon, cut into thin strips

In a large bowl, combine【Sauce】 mix well, and set aside.

In a cooking pan over high heat, heat enough cooking oil to 300°F/150°C, add beef slices and stir for 20-30 seconds, as soon as all pieces are separated quickly remove from the oil. (The oil temperature should be controlled as accurately as possible. Deep fry the beef slices until crispy. Don't add slurry for thickening, let the sauce thicken on its own.)

When the oil temperature reaches 300°F/150°C again, re-fry the beef slices for 20 seconds until crispy. Remove from oil and drain. Set aside.

Add a couple of tablespoon oil in the pan, then add minced garlic and diced onion, stir fry until fragrant.

Add in the sauce mixture prepared in step 5. Bring to a boil and thicken the sauce to the desired consistency.

Squeeze in half a lemon juice. Done.

Place the beef slices in a serving plate, pour the sauce over the beef. then top with lemon zest and julienned green onion.

You should slice the beef against the grain. Gently tenderizing the beef slices by using the back of the knife to prevent deforming. When coating the beef slices with breadcrumbs, press down firmly to prevent falling.
