Ingredients:
  • 1 lb.  Beef      
  • Marinade
  • 1 tbsp. Rice Wine  
  • 1 tsp. Soy Sauce 
  • 1 count Egg 
  • 1 tbsp. Corn Starch 
  • 3 oz. Okra 
  • 1 oz. Red And Yellow Pepper, Sliced In Circle Shape
  • 1 tbsp. Shaoxing Wine
  • 1 tbsp. Minced Garlic    
  • Seasonings
  • 1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 0.5 tbsp. Oyster Sauce
  • 0.25 tsp. Black Pepper 
  • 2 tbsp. Corn Starch and Water Slurry (1:1 ratio)
  • 1 tbsp. Chef Made Peppercorn Oil (See ''Chef John Signature Oil'' Video)

Cut okra crosswise into circles.

Slice beef into 1x2-inch pieces.

In a bowl, combine beef and rice wine, soy sauce, egg, starch, and blend well. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

In a wok over high heat, bring enough oil to 250-300°F (120-150°C). Put in the beef and stir quickly deep-fry until no longer pink. Remove from oil and drain.

Return the wok to the stove, add sliced okra, chopped red and yellow pepper, minced garlic, soy sauce, sugar, oyster sauce, black pepper, and beef.

Stir several times, then add slurry and peppercorn oil, mix well.
